Frustrated by a creative block, he grabbed his assistant’s nail polish and painted the sole of the shoe he was working on. He knew instantly it would be a hit. Louboutin is now famous for his signature shiny red stilettos and red-soled shoes - stylish, bold accent pieces that pull together any outfit.

Louboutin has catered to Princess Caroline of Monaco, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, and Nicki Minaj - to name a few. His stilettos were worn by Britney Spears in the “If U Seek Amy,” music video prior to their release on the market. They’ve been down the red carpet at numerous awards shows and were named the Most Prestigious Women’s Shoe in 2007, 2008, and 2009, topping the Luxury Institute’s annual Luxury Brand Status Index.
